…… 'Competition is the fuel for advancement'….. 'Jealousy in a positive way is a real gem'… 'Success at present is the biggest enemy of future'.....'if I rest, I rust'.
Since the day I have joined the social networking sites, these types of quotes have thoroughly entertained my retina. Sometimes they make me feel great, sometimes they impose intellectual threat. It is really hard to digest whether these quotes have been framed by normal people for those who lack motivation or it is just the opposite. Somehow the life span of these quotes in my grey matter is very little. So before imprinting these quotes on my personality, I always wonder ‘what was the bloody quote?’ Finally something has knocked my skull. In this ultra modern world, two things have always been under the scanner for their role in origin of motivation: POSITIVE JEALOUSY & RELATIONSHIPS (we do things either to suppress someone or impress someone!!). Though I am extremely poor in handling relationships, I happily admit that at few turns in my life, relationships have helped me to keep the motivation level adequate. OK, I shouldn't write much about relationships as someone has rightly said ‘Little knowledge is always dangerous’.
Virat Kohli couldn't have improved as a batsman, if he would have pleased with the fact that he is a far better batsman than Ravindra Jadeja… It is the realization that he is not up to the marks of Tendulkar/Dravid keeps him opsonized with motivation, dedication & determination. [P.S- Kohli has not paid me for promoting himself by my blog]… But the exact opposite is happening to Indian drama queen- Honorable Ms/Mrs. Rakhi Sawant. She has an orgasmic feeling when she considers herself to be far advanced than the South African Zulu dancers & we are suffering because of her over confidence so the real master key to open the lock of luck is POSITIVE JEALOUSY. It is something which is synonymous to inspiration but in a different pathway. You can say that ‘I don't like the person but I like his/her achievements'.
Some may argue that jealousy is jealousy, it can never be positive. But according to my opinion, it is something which paves the way to inspiration. Jealousy grows with the growth of human being & ultimately becomes an instinct. If I recall my past, I always find that during school days we were not victimized by jealousy… 10 AM to 4 PM in the school, then romance with Cricket followed by home work in the evening & later a sweet, unstrained sleep in the night… In college days it hugged us lightly. We were jealous for Friend’s great rank at AIIMS/IITs, pal’s girls, neighbor’s Honda City etc. At that point of time, it was hard to find the positivity out of it because of the mental immaturity. But now we have to hug/smooch (whatever you are comfortable with) the positivity. ‘I am good, but I am not the best’…. ‘He is doing it, why shouldn’t I?’ It is the moment to show the maturity, to possess the positivity. If we are not successful, we must enjoy the success of others so that we can identify the real taste of it. Believe me; the taste of success from friend's
bowel (success) definitely increases our appetite for the same.
I am writing about jealousy because I was jealous, I am giving stress to positive jealousy because it has resurrected my competitive spirit. Only time will decide whether we go on the path of Kohli or Rakhi but the best thing that we can do apart from hard work is to SPRINKLE POSITIVITY AROUND US…
